Dear colleagues and friends of IABM,

It is our great pleasure to invite you to participate in the fourth edition of the French Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Biomedical Imaging (IABM 2026), which will take place in Lyon from March 9 to 11, 2026.

The goal of this event is to review the latest methodological advances in artificial intelligence applied to biological and medical imaging, as well as their clinical and preclinical applications. The conference brings together a multidisciplinary community of mathematicians, computer scientists, physicists, biologists, and physicians.

In continuity with previous editions, this year’s program will feature invited talks by experts covering a broad thematic spectrum — from image acquisition to algorithm explainability — as well as poster sessions and a half-day dedicated to the Young Researchers Network of the community.

We also wanted to introduce new features to this Lyon edition, including:

  • organizing the Young Researchers Network session before the main conference to better integrate newcomers to the community,
  • extending poster session durations to foster more interaction
  • introducing highlight oral sessions to showcase the work of young researchers selected on abstract by the scientific committee,
  • dedicating an oral session to clinical and industrial technology transfer projects,
  • holding flash meetings (job or collaboration dating) with our industrial and academic sponsors,
  • and offering a tutorial on a current topic. This year, we have chosen to focus on Physics-Informed Machine Learning (PIML, PINNs).

To accommodate these new elements while maintaining quality discussion time, we have decided to extend the duration of the conference by half a day.

The conference will be held mainly in French, although some presentations may be given in English depending on the speakers.

Our program is nearly finalized, and we are delighted to welcome a prestigious lineup of invited speakers. We invite you to consult the detailed program on the conference website.

On behalf of all the organizers, we look forward to welcoming you to Lyon and are committed to making the 2026 edition, in the spirit of previous conferences, a great success!

Carole Lartizien, Odyssée Merveille, and Olivier Bernard
IABM 2026 Co-Chairs, on behalf of the Organizing Committee
